Riyadh, February 13, 2026, SPA — The Architecture and Design Commission launched the second cycle of the King Salman Charter for Architecture and Urbanism Award, aimed at celebrating outstanding urban projects. Submissions are now open and will be accepted until March 31.
The award seeks to reinforce the principles of the King Salman Charter for Architecture and Urbanism, thereby enhancing urban quality and improving overall quality of life.Participation is open to experts, professionals, and all eligible groups that can nominate projects they consider distinguished and worthy of the award according to the announced criteria, the commission noted.
Submissions are completed online via the official channels, allowing the evaluation stages based on the approved timeline and culminating in the announcement of winners. Assessment focuses on criteria inspired by the charter’s core values, including authenticity, sustainability, Continuity, human centricity, livability, and innovation.

The competition features two main tracks: Built Projects, recognizing urban projects that have been designed, constructed, and are operational, and Non-Built Projects, focusing on conceptual designs for projects not yet realized, showcasing unique architectural outputs and innovative design visions.The second cycle of the award continues the successes of last year’s inaugural cycle, raising professional and public awareness of the charter’s concept values and its application’s impact on society.
It aims to encourage excellence in architectural design, highlight individual contributions and emerging talent, and recognize the efforts of experts and decision-makers in developing the architecture and design sector.
