Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 14 December 2025: The eight young tennis stars participating in the 2025 Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF now have a clearer picture of their respective routes to the title following Sunday’s draw ceremony.
Taking place at King Abdullah Sports City from 17-21 December, the Next Gen ATP Finals features eight of the world’s best players aged 20-and-under based on the season long PIF ATP Race to Jeddah standings.
Top seed and 2024 finalist Learner Tien has been drawn in the Blue Group. The American will face fourth seed Martin Landaluce of Spain, Norwegian fifth seed Nicolai Budkov Kjær, and Spain’s seventh seed Rafael Jodar. Meanwhile, second seed Alexander Blockx leads the Red Group, and the Belgian takes on Croatian third seed Dino Prižmić, sixth seed Nishesh Basavareddy of the United States, and Germany’s eighth seed Justin Engel.
The group stage will be played in a round-robin format, with the top two advancing to the knockout semi-finals. The eventual champion could earn a record $539,750 if he lifts the trophy undefeated. The total prize money of $2,101,250 is also a tournament record.

This will be the third edition of the Next Gen ATP Finals to be held in Jeddah. The tournament holds a special place in Saudi Arabia’s tennis journey as the first ever professional event to be held in the Kingdom.
Since the historic inaugural event in 2023, the sport’s transformation in Saudi has continued at pace, with the arrival of more elite tournaments and impressive progress made locally, both in terms of mass participation and elite player development.
The flagship WTA Finals presented by PIF are now located in Riyadh until 2026 as part of a three-year partnership between the WTA and the Saudi Tennis Federation (STF), while from 2028 an ATP Masters 1000 tournament will be staged in the Kingdom.
These top-tier tournaments contribute to a broader strategy led by the STF to inspire more people to play and follow tennis. Initiatives like the ‘Tennis for All’ program, in collaboration with ‘Sports for All’, saw a further 53,000 children introduced to tennis just this year alone, while female participation has increased by more than 24% just in the 12 months since the 2024 WTA Finals Riyadh. At the local elite level, there are now a record 82 Saudi players who hold an international ranking.
