Riyadh, January 22, 2026, SPA — Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji participated Wednesday in a ceremony held in Riyadh to honor partners of success, including supporters, major donors, benefactors, and cooperating entities with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), in the presence of Advisor to the Royal Court and KSrelief Supervisor-General Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah.
In his speech, Elkhereiji affirmed the Kingdom’s continued commitment to supporting the needy and affected people across the globe, backing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all government entities in the efforts of the Kingdom’s humanitarian arm, KSrelief, and dedicating its capabilities to providing assistance and all available forms of support in an integrated manner, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the directives of the wise leadership.
He reiterated the Kingdom’s longstanding commitment to extending aid and assistance to needy countries and peoples and to supporting disaster-affected populations worldwide without discrimination.
The vice minister noted that the Kingdom continues to play its humanitarian, political, and economic role based on principles of moderation and responsibility, affirming that the Kingdom’s approach focuses on finding fundamental solutions to humanitarian crises in light of the escalation of such crises in recent years.Moreover, he highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to transparency by documenting humanitarian aid on national and international platforms, noting that the Kingdom has recorded projects and contributions exceeding SAR537 billion, benefiting 173 countries.
He indicated that the Kingdom ranked second globally and first in the Arab world among humanitarian aid donors in 2025, providing over $2 billion, equivalent to 8.5% of total global humanitarian funding, according to the Financial Tracking Service (FTS) report.
Additionally, he revealed that the Kingdom ranked first among donors to the Republic of Yemen, contributing $656.8 million, equivalent to 49.3% of total aid to Yemen, and second among donors to the Syrian Arab Republic, contributing $341.6 million, or 14.3% of humanitarian aid provided to Syria.
