Tokyo, April, 2025 – Terra Drone Corporation, recently ranked the No.1 Drone Service Provider in the world for 2024, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Aramco, Saudi Arabia’s leading energy and chemical company. This partnership underscores a joint commitment to exploring cutting-edge drone, robotics, and AI-driven technologies customized for the oil and gas industry, while accelerating localization initiatives in the Kingdom.

The MOU aims to foster deeper collaboration between Terra Drone and Aramco to develop drone technologies that enhance safety and operational efficiency across the energy sector. The agreement will serve as a collaborative platform for research and development, technology trials, training programs, and localized operations—aligning with Saudi Arabia’s broader strategic vision for economic diversification and innovation.

The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures from both companies, including Toru Tokushige, Founder & CEO of Terra Drone Corporation, and Khalid Y. Alqahtani, Aramco’s Senior Vice President of Engineering Services.

Following a strategic investment from Wa’ed Ventures in 2023, Terra Drone has accelerated its presence in the Kingdom through the establishment of Terra Drone Arabia. This local entity is focused on three strategic objectives:

  1. Short-term localization of drone services.
  2. Long-term development of local R&D and manufacturing capabilities.
  3. Creating high-quality employment opportunities for Saudi talent.

“This MOU is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to innovation and localization, in partnership with Aramco,” said Toru Tokushige. “Through Terra Drone Arabia, we will deliver advanced drone solutions that not only boost operational performance but also build local capability through collaborative R&D and workforce development.”

Empowering Aramco and the Kingdom’s Vision

This agreement is expected to lay a strong foundation for a long-term strategic partnership. By leveraging Terra Drone’s global expertise and on-the-ground presence, the company is well-positioned to support Aramco in overcoming complex challenges within the energy sector. Furthermore, the collaboration aims to advance the Kingdom’s ambitions in technological self-reliance and industrial growth under Vision 2030.
