Jeddah, January 19, 2026, SPA — The Saudi national team secured first place in the overall standings of the West Asia Modern Pentathlon Championship, which concluded at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, winning a total of 128 medals (42 gold, 43 silver, and 43 bronze). The Lebanon national team placed second with five medals (two gold, two silver, and one bronze), while the Syria national team finished third with two silver medals.
The championship featured 80 male and female athletes competing in swimming, running, and shooting across various age groups, ranging from under nine to over 35. The competitions were overseen by 35 Saudi technical staff members, both men and women, along with 66 male and female volunteers from the Ministry of Sport.
